Аннотация: In Sprague-Dawley rats, the effect of nifedipine on T wave configuration was examined. Nifedipine was intravenously injected at doses of 0.02 and 0.04 mg and normal saline or vehicle was infused as a control. The second limb lead and arterial blood pressure were measured. Nifedipine decreased T wave height by 23 and 27% at doses of 0.02 and 0.04 mg, respectively. The maximum decrease was observed between 10 and 20 s after nifedipine injection. On the other hand, control injection did not decrease T wave height significantly. Mean blood pressure was decreased by nifedipine, but not by the control injection. The maximum decrease was observed at 20 s after nifedipine injection. The R-R interval in ECG tracing was prolonged by nifedipine injection. It is indicated that the acutely infused nifedipine decreased T wave height in the normal heart. The extent of the decrease in T wave height varied directly with the extent of the decrease in mean blood pressure. Therefore, nifedipine's effect on the T wave is, in part, produced by the action of this drug on lowering blood pressure. Япония, Dep. of Med., Dokkyo Univ. School of Medecine, Mibu, Tochigi 321-02.
